The Allens' Big News

It has been some time since we last updated our blog. But, the past 2 years since we became a Forever Family have been amazing beyond our wildest dreams! We are so thankful that God chose us to be Bryson’s and AJ’s parents – there is no doubt that He knows what He’s doing!

We are still amazed at how well things just “fit together”. They are boys by every definition – rowdy, playful, sometimes destructive, loud, but always loving.

Bryson continues to do very well in school (first grade). He recently moved up a reading level, often aces his spelling tests, and recently joined the “100 Club” (those first-graders who can count to 100 without error)! It’s awesome to realize that in two short years, he has learned English, is doing well in school, and loves playing baseball and football.

AJ is, for lack of a better way to put it, a “typical” 3-year-old. He is very energetic, and loves to goof-off! But, like any other 3-year-old, he has his “moments”. But thankfully, those moments seem to always pass with a sweet “I’m sorry” from him. He also continues to amaze us with his growth. He loves swimming, so we entered him in a swimming class at the YMCA in which he excelled. He also started learning soccer, and really loved it. He is also getting better and better at counting – he can start of counting “1, 2, 3…” and can continue on with a little encouragement.

We also felt called to continue to try our best to live out James 1:27, so we recently began conducting adoption seminars with America World Adoption. We know that we can’t adopt every orphan, but we can try to help at least 1 orphan at a time find a Forever Family.

Finally, we always knew that God would place on our hearts at least one more adoption. We are happy and blessed to have entered the Ethiopian Adoption program again. We aren't sure how this adoption will turn out, but God has been up to some pretty crazy things so we feel we need to complete our home study in a hurry and we hope to be able to share soon the child(ren) that He will bless our family with! 

As we continue with this adoption, we once again have no idea where all the money will come from or how everythig will work out. But all we need to do is take one look at the boys to be reminded how faithful God is. So many of you supported us through our adoption of Bryson and AJ, again we ask you for your support - either financially but most importantly in prayer.
